Quantum Computing Engineer
College Park, MD
University Technical Services, Inc. (UTS) is actively seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Quantum Computing Engineer at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences who will work at the College Park, MD location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The individual will assist the government in the development and management of sponsored research grants and contracts.
- Review, summarize, and present assessments of technical reports.
- Preform independent analysis of technical data and create theoretical models to explain data.
- The individual will be partnering with other researchers in other laboratories to validate their research, as well as reporting to the funding agency.
Required Experience:
- Quantum Computing experience: 5 years of research experience in the quantum field: experimental experience with design, fabrication, and testing of qubits. Knowledge of emphasis on solid state implementations.
- Ph.D. and post doctoral experience strongly preferred.
- Theory experience with design of qubits, design of quantum protocols such as randomized benchmarking, or other process/state characterization methods.
- Theory experience with quantum error correction.
- Ability to team effectively with other internal group members, customer agency, and external researchers. Ability to communicate via written reports and oral presentations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and Eligibility for a TS clearance is required for this position.
Salary: Negotiable.
